Hello fellow seniors, my official name is Cynthia, but everyone calls me Cindy. I used to work as a director’s secretary in a fairly large company, but 3 years ago I retired. In the beginning I had trouble finding new things to do and maybe more than others, because I am single. When I heard about Palette I gave it a chance and it worked out well. For the next weekend already, I saw plenty of nice events and I chose a concert to attend. Within a month I joined a bridge club that is just a few blocks from where I live. Recently I saw this call on the Palette website to become an ambassador and editor and I immediately joined the team. When you look now at our community section in Palette you may see events that I put there.
Hi folks, my name is Robert. A couple of years ago my beloved wife died and I had trouble in finding nice things to do. All those things we enjoyed after my retirement seemed meaningless and I was losing touch with the people around me. Things changed when I found on Palette a rich choice of activities that were appealing. I selected almost all available interests in my profile to get plenty of suggestions and I saw so many that it was even hard to choose. What I liked best was the possibility to look who else was going to an event I liked. That’s how I found Cindy. We went together to a classic rock and roll concert and found out that we both like bridge as well. We are both not looking for a relationship; thanks to Palette we’ll be good friends and enjoy life with the seniors and others in our neighbourhood.
I am Mary, 61 years of age, but looking much younger as you can see. I am active in many ways: I do yoga, meditation courses and I promote mindfulness as much as I can, for instance on Facebook. By the way, FB is one of the social media, but there I hardly found nice things to do in my little town. That’s what I like about Palette: it connects me directly with events and nice people in my neighbourhood. Moreover, I can put my own initiative on the platform! I consider myself a good cook and I wanted to start a course on vegan cooking, which I do every day for myself and my partner. I have a lot of fine recipes that I want to share. Guess what! In a week time twelve people subscribed to my course. I forgot to fill in the maximum number of participants and my kitchen is not big enough. Now I will have to split the group in two, but how nice is this?
